Dwayne Johnson was a wrestler when he started his career, and later on, he decided to become an actor. Could he go from actor to president in 2024? Earlier this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was interviewed by GQ magazine, and he was asked whether he would run for president in 2024. His answer was: “I think that it’s a real possibility.”
Ever since that moment, people have been speculating about The Rock as a potential presidential candidate. He and Tom Hanks had a joke on Saturday Night Live about their campaign, and we cannot figure out, whether him saying that he would run for a president is just a joke, or he really meant it! He was serious when he talked about it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
After being quiet for some time, and only giving several hints, the possibility of Johnson the President is still a hot point of discussion. He told Instyle magazine: “This whole thing started with a piece in The Washington Post about a year and a half, two years ago. And then, when it started to pick up and got to the point where it was just impossible to ignore, I said, ‘Of course I would consider a run.’ So where we’re at right now is just quietly observing everything happening on the political landscape, and when the next election comes along … I will be watching very intently.”
But to the fans and those people who really want to see Johnson in the race, the slogan already exists. On numerous occasions, Johnson has repeated: “More poise, less noise.” Also during his GQ magazine interview, he revealed that he didn’t endorse any of the two 2016 political candidates.
Back then, he stated: “But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen. And these are all conversations I have with myself, in the gym at four o’clock in the morning—I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.”
Will Johnson run in 2024 election?
