Our favorite Hollywood star, Dwayne Johnson, brought official info about the sequel of Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. Just like many times before, The Rock decided to share the news with his fans through Instagram where he confirmed that the second part of the franchise is being prepared.
It was said that actors would not change and that Karen Gillian, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and himself will be a part of the sequel. It is not clear if any new characters will be added to the story, but there is a possibility that we will see a few new names on the list as the first movie was a huge success.
Johnson continued by saying that Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg will be again involved in writing the script and that Jake Kasdan is set for a director job. Dwayne will be a producer, and once again, he will employ tried and tested crew with Dany Garcia, Matt Tolmach, and Hiram Garcia.
The release of this film is scheduled for December of the next year, and it will come at an approximately same time as Star Wars: Episode IX. To be honest, looking at the success that Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle had, we think that Star Wars, one of the largest franchises ever, should be worried about their dates. This will truly be a clash of titans.
How big Jumanji was is seen with box office figures. It made a total of $950 million worldwide, and it is Sony Picture’s highest-grossing domestic release of all time. These numbers make it one of the top movies in 2017 when it comes to earnings.
