Dwayne Johnson is giving us updates from his current endeavors, and the latest one is the photo he posted on his Facebook profile. The image reveals happenings from the set of Rampage movie which is at this moment in the process of making. We see Johnson himself with actor Jason Liles (Men in Black 3, The Conjuring 2) whom he praises a lot due to his commitment to the role of George he got in the upcoming movie.
This is what Johnson posted:
“In our story we have three animals who fall victim to evil genetic editing, rapidly changing every strand of their DNA so they grow, evolve and mutate. Everything becomes amplified.. their size, strength, speed, agility.. and violent aggression.
One of the animals infected – a rare Albino gorilla named, George, is my best friend.
“George, is played by 6’9 Jason Liles, pictured here. Jason has been studying gorillas for months now preparing for this motion capture role. Gorillas movements, body language, and all emotions – joy, pain, sadness, love, aggression etc. It’s insane when you get around this man and how he’s able to embody a gorilla. This is the most fascinating advanced VFX/motion cap process I’ve ever worked with in my career.
“We have the best mo-cap team in the world (WETA Digital) working on our RAMPAGE MONSTERS and you’ll get a taste of this new technology in the upcoming WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES as well as James Cameron’s AVATARS.
With all the cool advanced technology in our movie, the #1 thing you’re gonna experience when you watch it, is FUN.
Because when my best friend, George no happy, then me no happy. And when me no happy.. bad people become our lunch.”
When it comes to the crew in the movie, the actors involved are:
Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Malin Akerman (TV’s Billions), Jake Lacy (TV’s Girls), Joe Manganiello (TV’s True Blood) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (TV’s The Walking Dead). The list does not end there as we have P.J. Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street), Marley Shelton (Solace), Breanne Hill (San Andreas), Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), and Matt Gerald (TV’s Daredevil).
Johnson takes on a role of Primatologist Davis Okoye who finds it hard to socialize with people. So, he finds an alternative in George, who is a very smart gorilla. Davis supposedly takes care of George from when he was born. But the events start to take a wrong turn when this, at first gentle and friendly gorilla, becomes an unstoppable monster. The failed experiment that led to this situation did not just affect George, but there are also others in the same terrible and changed condition. Now, Okoye is trying to create an antidote, to try to prevent this catastrophe from doing more damage and spreading further.
This movie is based on a popular video game with the same title in which the gamer was able to choose one of the three monsters to be in control of. The executive producers are Marcus Viscidi, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Jeff Fierson and the co-producer of the movie is Wendy Jacobson.
While we’re waiting for the new updates from our favorite actor, Dwayne Johnson, feel free to comment on what you think this post reveals about the upcoming movie.
