The relations between the famous actor Dwayne The Rock Johnson and his colleagues reached its boiling point while working on the eighth movie of Fast and Furious franchise. Johnson was fairly frustrated by the inappropriate conduct of some of his fellow actors which led him to make his anger public. Namely, he posted a photo on Instagram with a short description where he praised some of his colleagues while calling out the others by the words “Candy a**es.”
“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es,” he said. “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you’re right.”
Many people disapproved of Dwayne’s strong and hostile reaction, but many also kept wondering which actors he called out by these words and where the tension came from. Most speculations revolve around his co-star Vin Diesel. The rumor has it that the feud started due to Diesel’s irresponsible behavior. A source gave ET some information on the topic: There were several times Vin was late to set and it really started pissing Dwayne and other cast and crew members off… At the end of production, Dwayne had enough of Vin’s bulls**t. However, in his interview with Los Angeles Times, he also revealed his true feelings on the matter:
“I was very clear with what I said. I’ve been in the game a long time,” Johnson explained. “Would Universal have preferred that didn’t happen? Sure, we talked about it. The irony is after that and as they do their tracking and all their analysis, the interest shot through the roof to a whole other level.”
The movie arrives in theaters in few months, and it is then that we will see to what extent their intolerance has affected the outcome of the film.
