As the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere approaches we are getting more and more info about next chapters, spin-offs and similar. We saw that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a great hit last December and the even better result is expected from The Last Jedi.
It is clear that Lucasfilm and Disney are interested in expanding the franchise with additional movies that might not be centered around the most popular characters as it was in the Rogue One. Recently we could hear that Han Solo movie is planned and while he is one of the most important figures in the series it was newer the center one. Furthermore, Boba Feet and Obi-Wan Kenobi are rumored to be the main protagonists of some of the future releases.
In their effort to expand, the production company will need to bring more people on board. With the popularity previous projects had and amount of money they earned, this gives them the opportunity to choose the best of the best, and one of the names that were mentioned is Dwayne Johnson.
We saw a trend of getting this man into a franchise that needs a power-up like it was with Fast and Furious. The popularity of this guy is insane, and he is probably the number one in the Hollywood, so it is a logical move to add him to future projects of your company.
One of the problems with The Rock is that he is busy, really busy. With many projects already undergoing and planned it would be difficult to put him in another one, especially in something as big as Star Wars. On the other hand, it would be great to see The Rock as Jedi or in a role related to this franchise.
When looking at the size of the Star Wars universe and pretty much unlimited possibilities, it is hard to guess how Dwayne would fit into this story but it also means that there are many ways that they could introduce new character worthy of the popularity that this man brings. Just take a look at what they did with Rogue One. The company used one tiny bit of the story, that is a part of the bigger plan and made a whole movie revolving around it, pretty impressive. Similar could be done with DJ with the possibility of the creation of multiple projects related to his character.
The time frame for the delivery of something like this is quite hard to guess. As we already mentioned Dwayne is very busy, and his schedule would need to be adjusted for a movie of this size.
What do you think about Dwayne Johnson in Star Wars? Would you like to see this guy in this franchise?
