During the promotional campaign of his upcoming movie Rampage, Johnson was a guest at The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle actor decided to use this stage not only for the promotion of his upcoming project but to talk about his ‘love’ life.
The story of his crush on Frances McDormand starts with his first daughter from a relationship with Dany Garcia – Simone. As you already know Simone Johnson was 2018 Golden Globes Ambassador. Her father, The Great One, was in the audience, and he recalls the event: “One of their many jobs … is to usher the winners off stage.”
Frances McDormand was awarded for Best Actress, and this is where The Rock affection for her comes in: “I love Frances as we all do. She goes up to speak, and right before she speaks, she turns around and walks to the back of the stage and shakes Simone‘s hand out of the blue. It just blew me away, ’cause no one did that.”
Dwayne continued by saying: “[Frances] had the awareness to do that to my 16-year-old daughter. She thanked everyone and turned around, thanked her. She gave her speech, now as she’s walking off, Frances grabs Simone‘s hand, and she has the Globe in this hand, she has Simone‘s hand in this hand, she kisses Simone‘s hand, and I was like Jesus. … So beautiful of her. I’ve been meaning to call her and tell her but now that I’m here, I gotta tell you, Ellen, I got a little crush on Frances.”
Dwayne Johnson is not afraid to talk about relationships in his family, and of the deep bond that he shares with his daughters. He even goes as far as to have a crush on someone for being kind to his daughter. This was a class act from Frances, and Johnson knows how to appreciate it.
People immediately thought how will this admission affect Johnson relationship with Hashian but The Rock told us not to worry: “We’re gonna have to exchange numbers because just between you and I – I know nobody else is watching – we’re gonna get married. It’s not gonna be weird, Lauren‘s down with it.”
