Dwayne Johnson is famous all around the world. He was a professional WWE wrestler, but for a long time, he has been in a movie industry. One of the most successful people in Hollywood is always willing to encourage the fans who need help. In other words, he was never shy to show the vulnerable side to the public.
Recently, a guy named Austin Bitikofer posted a tweet in which he thanks Dwayne Johnson for being his inspiration in fighting his depression. The 19-year-old was probably thrilled when he saw that The Rock responded to his tweet. Johnson wrote: “Battled that beast more than once. Us men to prideful to ask for help. Speak up, ask for help & you’re never alone. See at the top one day.”
If you are a big fan of Dwayne Johnson, you should know that he has never been afraid to talk about his depression he eventually managed to overcome. The Rock appeared on Oprah’s Master Class series last year when he spoke about it.
On that occasion, Dwayne Johnson said: “I found that with depression, one of the most important things you could realize is that you’re not alone. You’re not the first to go through it; you’re not going to be the last to go through it. And oftentimes — it happens — you just feel like you’re alone. You feel like it’s only you. You’re in your bubble. And I wish I had someone at that time who could just pull me aside and [say], ‘Hey, it’s gonna be OK. It’ll be OK.’ So, I wish I knew that.”
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, there are at least six million men who suffer from depression in the US. If Dwayne Johnson can beat it, everyone can do it. Listen to his advice and ask for help.
