In the last couple of years, a lot of teams had at least one elite wideout that can easily make a Top 10 list of the best players at that position. Dallas Cowboys have had that guy for a couple of years now, while the Giants got their man two years ago. Dez Bryant or Odell Beckham Jr? Which receiver is better as of right now.
We are not talking only about the numbers. Yes, they need to be productive, but we can’t judge Dez by his 2016 numbers as he missed some games. Dez Bryant is a big target that has been the go-to guy for Tony Romo. If Romo was on the field, the case can be made that Dez would have had better figures. He always makes clutch catches when he needs to make them. Big targets are valuable to the quarterback and Dez Bryant fits that mold.
On the other hand, we have Odell that is a speedster and can make any catch that you need him to make. If you are one step behind him, you won’t be able to catch him, and he is going to take the ball in for six points. He is useful as a deep threat or in the slot, and we can’t say that about Dez Bryant.
Both of them are very important for their team’s success, but both of them can give a headache to their head coach as they are often doing things that you don’t like to see from your star player. Still, they are way too valuable for them to part ways with these kinds of talents. In the end, we are going to pick Odell Beckham Jr. as he is just a bit better all around wideout and the reason for that is the fact that he can get the job done both outside and inside. We like big targets like Dez, but the speed is also important. That’s why we are going with Odell.
