After starting the season undefeated in the first six weeks, Minny has dropped two straight games and opened the door for their main competitors. Luckily for them, both Lions and Packers lost as well, so they didn’t lose their lead. Bears did beat them on Monday Night Football, but they are far from the conversation for NFC North’s crown.
Detroit looks like a Stafford or bust kind of a team. This man needs to do a lot for Lions to win duels. To his credit, there are games in which he was able to do that. Many people have called him one of the most underrated players in the NFL and that he should even be one of the MVP nominees or at least to be mentioned.
Lions are 4-4 at this moment, while Vikings are sitting at 5-2. A win here would do great things for Detriot. If they can knock off the Vikes, they would be just a half-game behind Minnesota in their division. There are also Green Bay Packers that can tie with the Vikings if Lions win this game.
All in all, both squads have a lot to win but also a lot to lose in this one just like every divisional contest at this point of the season. Only one division is decided already, and it’s the one in which Tom Brady plays.
This contest will be a battle between an offensive powerhouse and a defensive minded team. Vikings D is elite, but their offense failed them a few of times this season, and it resulted in two losses to inferior teams like Eagles who were sliding at that point, and Bears, who are in a slump for a couple of years already.
Lions will be the underdogs on Sunday, but we pick them to come to Minnesota and upset the Vikings. It’s not going to be a high scoring game since it’s a Vikings game and they heavily rely on their defense, but we see Detroit stealing this one 21:17 on the road.
