Now, after that dominating performance against dangerous Bama defense, he will be looking at the NFL draft. In this match, he went 36/56 as he passed for 420 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 46 rushing yards and a TD on 21 carries. He did it all as the Clemson Tigers won their first National title in 35 years.
“No one panicked,” Watson talked about his team’s late-game heroics. “I walked up to my offensive line, walked up to my wide receivers and I said ‘Let’s be legendary. Let’s be great. God put us here for a reason.’ It was just right.”
The final score of the game was 35:31 in favor of the Tigers. The next stop for this man will be NFL Draft Combine and NFL workouts as he will be preparing for the NFL Draft. There will be almost no time to rest and celebrate this national title for Deshaun Watson as the Draft process starts as soon as the NFL season ends. A lot of squads will be looking for their quarterback of the future. Who knows, Deshaun Watson might be just that for an NFL franchise.
