Gary Kubiak was back on the sidelines coaching after missing some games due to health problems. Denver is back to winning football after losing two straight. This was a pretty sweet victory for this Broncos team as they were able to shut down a quarterback that left them, took the money and ran to Houston in the offseason.
It was a very tough night for Brock Osweiler back in Denver. He didn’t get sacked, but he felt the pressure of Denver’s defense. Getting rid of the ball quickly really didn’t do much for him as he went 22/41 for only 131 passing yards without a TD or INT. Von Miller and company were putting the pressure on him all night long, and he couldn’t handle it.
Trevor Siemian outplayed a guy who should have been the replacement for Payton Manning. In the end, Broncos are probably happy that they didn’t give him the amount of money that Texans did. They actually made the right move by not chasing him in Free Agency and letting him run to Texas.
Siemian wasn’t spectacular, but his 157 passing yards and one touchdown toss were enough for him to outplay his opponent. CJ Anderson and Devontae Booker were the MVPs of this game on the offensive side of the ball. Both of them ran the ball with efficiency while getting into the end zone one time each. Final result Broncos 27, Texans 9 and “easy” win for Denver crew that now sits on 5:2 while Houston squad is on 4:3.
Denver is back to their winning streak after that two-game skid. Texans, on the other hand, will be in a huge battle with the Indianapolis Colts for the divisional crown and a Playoff spot.
