Atlanta Falcons have broken a bunch of records on the offensive side of the ball this season. One of the guys that deserve the most credit for the Falcons success is their Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan. He is a head coaching candidate right now and will listen to the teams and all the offers that they have for him when the season ends.
Falcons OC is scheduled to meet with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars. But, it seems that his favorite are the Denver Broncos.
His father Mike Shanahan was known as a coach of the Denver Broncos and Kyle might follow his dad’s footsteps and go to the Mile-High City.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the following:
“The word around the league right now with the people involved in coaching searches and gathering all of this information is that that’s job Shanahan has his eyes on – going to Denver where his father coached.”
His father, Mike Shanahan, is the most successful coach in Broncos’ history as he led Denver to back-to-back titles with John Elway as his quarterback, a man that now runs team’s football operations.
It looks like the Falcons Offensive Coordinator is highly wanted at this point. That’s because only four teams in NFL history have recorded more yards and points than the 2016 Atlanta Falcons. They are one of just three teams this century that has scored on over half of its possessions on offense.
Falcons are now in the Playoffs, but Mike Shanahan’s offseason will probably be, to him, just as important as the postseason action with Atlanta.
