Deadpool 2 will arrive soon, and we have some great news for the comic book fans. The relationship between Deadpool and Cable will be inspired by the comics, according to the director of the popular movie. When we found out that Deadpool would return after the first film, we wondered whether Cable would be in the sequel.
Both characters were created by Rob Liefeld, and they have worked together in so many adventures in the comics. In the movie, Josh Brolin will play Cable, and we have already had a chance to see how his character is going to look. He will also wear a teddy bear around his waist, and even though we know a lot about this character at the moment, we cannot tell what his relationship with Deadpool would be like. David Leitch, the movie director says the fans have nothing to worry about when it comes to the dynamic between Ryan Reynolds’s Wade Wilson and Brolin’s Cable.
He said: “Cable has a really interesting and complex backstory. Obviously, no film could ever encapsulate the entire backstory, so I think we’ll find the first introduction is about who this character is. When you look at the Cable and Deadpool comic book series, you see how there is banter between them. Whether they are on opposite sides or not, they are definitely formidable to each other. One is frustrating to the other. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin is amazing. It’s not unlike what you see in the Cable and Deadpool series.”
Deadpool 2 will not deal with Cable’s backstory, but future movies such as X-Force will likely dive more into it. The contrast between the two characters will be shown clearly in the new film, and we cannot wait to see it. Also, joining the mix is Domino, which is another character to look forward to.
