Having proved to be a massive blockbuster, “Deadpool” paved the way for its sequel production. It was immediately known that the second installment would be delivered, sooner or later. The same team started working on “Deadpool 2”, but after some time they faced a rather significant setback when Tim Miller, the director of the movie, decided to leave the production. Not long after his departure the composer, Junkie XL dropped out as well. The fans started wondering how this would affect the upcoming film’s further development.
Needless to say, the bumps in the road mentioned above did harm to the sequel production process. Firstly, it was announced that the film release date would be pushed back, and then they had a hard time finding a replacement for Miller. The reason why he no longer wanted to be at the helm of “Deadpool 2” was some kind of disagreement with Ryan Reynolds, who is one of the movie’s producers, besides playing the lead role. Reports say that “creative differences” were the problem that got in the way of their cooperation. Namely, Reynolds and Miller had different ideas about Deadpool’s look – the actor wanted to maintain the “scrappy” look, while the director insisted on a “more polished” version.
According to Stopru, a replacement for Miller has been finally found. David Leitch, known for some popular titles such as “The Matrix Trilogy,” “John Wick” and “Fight Club,” will know be the new “Deadpool 2” director.
As you can see, it seems that the movie is back on track. However, there is still one more question that remains unanswered – when will the sequel be released? Unfortunately, the exact release date has not been announced yet, but it is speculated that it will come out sometime in 2018. It has also been reported that 20th Century Fox reorganized their calendar, changing the “Kingsman 2” and “Alien: Covenant” premiere dates and, what’s even more important, they have scheduled two Marvel movies for November 2, 2018, and February 14, 2019. Even though the titles are still kept secret, let’s keep our fingers crossed that November is reserved for “Deadpool 2”.
