1Jason Garrett
Jason Garrett has 63-50 record with the Cowboys, and even though that is solid, the team has been inconsistent for years, which is the reason we might see Garret fired. In 2014, Dallas was 12-4, but one season later they finished with the 4-12 record. In 2016 they were successful again with only three losses, but they are 5-4 currently, and they will probably end this season with the record around .500, especially now that Elliott is suspended.
If the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs this year and they don’t improve much in the upcoming season or two, the scenario will be familiar – Garrett will be replaced. However, Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner wants to establish continuity, so we might see Jason Garrett as Dallas’ head coach in 2024. What does this mean for the fans? Probably one year of extremely good football, followed by a year of mediocre performances. Garrett is not the best coach in the NFL, but he is not the worst either.
Dallas is not having a good season this year, but they will not change much in the future which is good. The chemistry will continue to improve, and the young players will gain much-needed experience. It looks positive, and if the Cowboys take some necessary steps, they could be a Super Bowl-caliber team. But with Dallas, you never know.
