Ther were a lot of a bit surprising cuts yesterday in the NFL and one of them was the Minnesota Vikings releasing their star running back Adrian Peterson. There is no doubt about the fact that this guy is one of the greatest of all time, but he has had a tough time staying on the field. He does earn a lot of money, and because of his injuries, the Vikings decided that they are going to move on from him.
There was a lot of talk about him demanding a trade or becoming a free agent and going somewhere else last year. He talked about possibly wanting to play for the Cowboys, as he stated that he would like to play in Big D. He stayed with the Vikings, Dallas drafted Ezekiel Elliot, and that was that.
AP is now free to go wherever he wants, and it seems that the Dallas Cowboys are interested, even though they already have a star running back on their roster. Jerry Jones has said that he would like to pick up this guy and pair him up with Elliot.
A two-headed running attack is always great to have. Falcons have it, and they have used it all season long. It got them a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl. But, the Dallas Cowboys have other things that they need to worry about. Getting Tony Romo off the books should be their 1st priority while that defense also needs a big boost for the upcoming campaign.
Still, Peterson would be a great addition for Dallas, but he won’t be a game changer for them. In order for this team to improve, they need to fix that defense.
