The Dallas Cowboys lost another game, this time against the Green Bay Packers. This is their second loss in a row, and it may be the time for the fans to mull over whether their team is capable of reaching the playoffs and winning it all. Bob Strum, co-host of BaD Radio, gave his opinion on the match.
Strum praised the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his ability to win the game in late four quarter. Even though the Dallas Cowboys were close to stopping Rodgers, he managed to pull it off again. According to Strum, Rodgers was left too much time. Strum stated: “I said it in 2014 and I will say it again. The best way to stop him in these situations is to not let him have the ball back. You have to take the clock all the way down. That has to be a main priority.”
Also, Strum added that it appeared the Green Bay Packers would try to let Dallas score as soon as possible, once they came close to the end zone so that there would be more time left for Rodgers and the Packers offense. Moreover, Strum discussed Jaylon Smith’s struggle and his inability to do what he is required to do. That is why his role reduces when both Sean Lee and Anthony Hitchens are ready to play. Smith is a good linebacker with the potentially good career in the future, but right now, the Cowboys defense is vulnerable because of his inability to stop the players he needs to stop.
That interception return for the TD was a big play for the Packers, but whose fault was it? Prescott or Williams’? Prescott didn’t have a perfect game, but Williams should have caught the ball. They were close to their end zone, and these mistakes must not happen. Now that the team from Dallas lost another game at home, the fans should be concerned. Let us remind you that the Cowboys lost three games in total last year and now they have lost three games in five weeks.
However, it wasn’t all bad, according to Strum. He said: “Well, nobody wants to hear this, but that was a really strong offensive performance again. Elliott looks back in form, and the offense is still capable of very impressive things. The defense is still a work in progress, but with Lee and this pass rush with DeMarcus Lawrence and Irving, I am still comfortable that they are a playoff team and likely to win the East.”
