But let’s try to look at things from a different perspective. Dallas is a young team and only four guys who are a lock for a roster spot next season are 30 or older. The fifth guy is Orlando Scandrick who could decide to leave. Although they are young, Dallas is in severe lack of speed. Therefore they should find players who are fast no matter the position.
On the other hand, the Cowboys have 12 players under 24, but they will be very important for the team in the years to come. If Dallas wants to do more in 2018 and enter playoffs (for starters), they will need to beat the opponents on speed. While the defense was young in 2017, they somehow lacked moveability and quickness. America’s Team has no players such as Saints’ Alvin Kamara and excellent wide receivers to tire the defensive units. Yes, there are a few fast players, e.g., Elliott, but the team needs more.
