According to a report from KFDM News, Beaumont, Dak Prescott‘s father was arrested on Saturday in South Texas after it was discovered that he had marijuana in his car. He was pulled over by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and later on, 57-year-old Nathaniel Prescott was arrested.
Father of Dallas Cowboys star quarterback was driving Cadillac Escalade, and the trooper found a small amount of marijuana in the driver’s side door pocket. All this happened at about 4 p.m. Saturday on Highway 87 in Orange County, Texas. Prescott was then taken to Orange County Jail and later on, was released on $500 bond.
There are no details about the arrest and nothing indicates that he resisted the officer.
Dak Prescott who recently started his third preseason with Dallas Cowboys grew up in Haughton, La. His parents divorced when he was starting school and was mostly raised by a single mother. Dak maintained a relationship with his father who moved to Frisco during the last year so he could be closer to his son. It was also reported that Nathaniel visited him for his birthday in Oxnard, Calif., during the last year training camp.
There is no doubt that young quarterback needs to focus on the upcoming season as he needs to improve his performance and fight for a big contract. This is something he doesn’t need, but fortunately, this was only a misdemeanor possession. Dak Prescott wasn’t available for comment, and his father also didn’t want to say anything.
Next in line for America’s Team is the preseason game two against Cincinnati Bengals that will be played on Saturday 18.
