Dak Prescott had almost identical two seasons with the Cowboys. He got a chance to play behind the center in his rookie season, and he proved that he was capable of it. He threw 23 touchdowns and had only four interceptions. But once again, Dallas was stopped in the divisional round, this time by the Green Bay Packers. We could discuss what went wrong in that game, but let’s just say this – in 2016, Prescott had 3,667 yards in total!

After a fantastic season for Dallas, everyone expected 2017 to be THE year. Dak was supposed to grow and team to bring some players and patch things up. None of this happened, though. In the offseason, front office let some players walk in free agency (e.g., Barry Church) and even though they expected a lot from the rookies they drafted, none of them had a good season.

The young secondary couldn’t stop opposing offense, whereas Elliott had legal issues due to which he had to miss six games. As for Prescott, he had 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, whereas the total of yards dropped to 3,324. Dallas Cowboys couldn’t reach the playoffs, and they finished the year with the 9-7 record.
