The NFL has sent out their pay for 2016 season based on the performances of individual players. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott led all offensive players with over 353.5K dollars, according to the sources close to the league. He wasn’t on the receiving end of the highest pay as Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brian Poole, a guy that went undrafted, led all players with 374.8K dollars.
This system was introduced back in 2002. NFL is always allocating a pool of money to every team, and the players are receiving money based on their performance compared to their annual salaries. That is why Poole led the way among all the players as he didn’t really earn much as an undrafted player, but he had a fantastic rookie year.
The same can be said for the offensive rookie of the year, a fourth round choice in the Draft, Dak Prescott. He led the Cowboys to 13-3 record and a number one seed in the NFC. He had 23 TDs on the season with only four picks, which is pretty rare for a rookie. As a matter of fact, he looked like an experienced veteran on the field.
He caused Dallas to pick him over Romo and probably push out Tony out of the town. It seems that he will be the guy for the Cowboys going forward. Prescott for sure deserves the spot that he is in right now, just like he is also very deserving of the money that he got for his performance this season. Rookie season was rather successful for him, and he will be looking to improve in the coming years.
