Yes, the title is correct, no matter how weird it looks. As it seems, Dak got tired of signing all those autographs, and he used a trick to relieve himself of that “tedious” task. Yes we are all aware that he is more popular now than a year or two ago and that he has to sign a lot more autographs now, but come on man, it is a part of your job! Do it right.
What actually happened is that Cowboys quarterback has been accused of using a machine to sign autographs for a memorabilia company for resale, at least that is according to the Darren Rovell of ESPN.com. This was also confirmed by the company that authenticates signatures, and as we find out, they actually refused to verify the authenticity of the signatures. Steve Grad, principal authenticator of Beckett Grading Services stated that “They had a very machine like feel. You could see the starts and stops,” and added “I immediately knew they were autopen. . . . I’ve never heard of a modern athlete doing this.”
So far Dak Prescott is keeping his head down, and nothing is coming from either him or his agents. Another interesting fact, this actually makes him the second NFC East quarterback in the middle of a memorabilia scandal, along with Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who is accused of passing off gear as game-worn when it may not have been.
Is this the first bad thing that we are getting regarding Dak Prescott and his career? Hopefully, everything will be sorted out.
