Finally, we have to admit that it is rather hard to believe that either British troops or American Freemasons would have been able to dig flooding tunnels just to make sure that their treasure remains well-hidden. It’s even less likely that the pirates in the 16th and the 17th century did something like that. There is, actually, a logical explanation for this phenomenon – the Oak Island is made up of limestone and anhydrite, the minerals which, over the years, “created a natural honeycomb of subterranean caverns and sinkholes throughout the island.” Much easier to comprehend, don’t you think?
