Having won Euro 2016 with his team this year, as well as Global’s Best Player of the Year award and Ballon d’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo decided to treat himself to a new car, which is believed to cost around £100,000. He posted a photo of his new Mercedes on Instagram, with a caption which says “new beast.”
Ronaldo took some time off to spend holidays with his family, but now he is more than ready to get back to training, as Real Madrid is supposed to play against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey, which will be their first match in 2017. They must be entering the New Year rather motivated, as they have achieved so much during 2016. One of their numerous wishes is without a doubt staying at the top of La Liga table.
As for Ronaldo himself, he has scored 23 goals in 22 games. Portuguese football star believes 2016 has been the most successful year of his career so far. When he won Soccer Player of the Year, he said: “Collectively and individually, it was probably my best year so far.” He also mentioned what exactly has been accomplished by his team, expressing how satisfied and proud he is: “We won the Champions League with Real Madrid, we won a major title with Portugal’s national team for the first time, I won the Ballon d’Or, the Club World Cup. I cannot ask for more. The people who still doubt me, Real Madrid and the national team, they now have the proof. We won everything.” Finally, he said: “So it has been an amazing year and I am very happy with it. I want to thank my team-mates from the national team and Real Madrid.”
