The old saying – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree is definitely on the spot, when Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is in question. On the recent photos from the Christiano Ronaldo Instagram page we can see that his six-year-old son is eager to follow his father in his footsteps, and apparently, the first step is to hit the gym and do some lunges as a warm up. If this is a measure for anything than Real Madrid future is looking good because this cute little boy is a sure successor to what his father does best.
The picture in question where Cristiano and Cristiano Jr. are doing lounges spawned almost a million likes in just over three hours, which is by the way, around average for a man that has 82 million followers. But let’s put this little comical detour aside and focus on what really matters. Cristiano dove into training and preparations to make sure he is fit and ready for the upcoming game. Los Blancos are due to make a short trip to the Vicente Calderon where they will be clashing with their arch-rivals, Atletico Madrid. This is, by the way, a game in which Cristiano has an opportunity to enhance further his Ballon d’Or chances which is always a pretty big thing for him.
This derby came pretty much early in the season, but nevertheless Real is going to this match knowing that if they win this one, their rivals might pretty soon lose any La Liga title hopes. The reason for that is Atletico’s sluggish start where they took just 21 points from their first 11 games and are now sitting in the 4th place on the table, with two defeats and three draws. On the other side, Real Madrid has its sights fixed on the first Spanish title since 2009, with two points ahead of Barca, unbeaten and with 27 points on top of all.
Cristiano will probably try very hard to forget this autumn, especially with seven goals from his first 12 games and only five assists for Real Madrid. Although he scored a hat-trick in La Liga against Alaves late last month, he also failed to score goals against Legia Warsaw in the Champions League and Spanish Leganes. These were the teams that Cristiano usually chewed and spat out with ease, but I guess everybody is allowed to have a bad streak sometime in the course of the career. Ronaldo, nevertheless, is apparently working very hard to prepare for the upcoming game and a duel with Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez on Saturday.
