5Roll-up displays and flexible electronics
We will have to wait for some time for this feature to arrive at handsets, but we are so excited about it. Namely, LG created a TV screen which rolls down into its housing when you stop watching it. Will this be applied to phones? Hopefully, even though we are not sure how they would do it. R&D departments have been trying to create foldable displays for years, and they are still trying to figure out a way.
There are some indications that we are moving towards this technology seen on 2017 CPlus wrist-worn bracelet phone concept, but there is still a long way to go. Samsung did promise a foldable phone in 2018, and we must say that we are skeptical. The problem with this is that while the manufacturers can and already have produced flexible displays, they will have a hard time getting components like batteries and chips to bend.
