It was announced some time ago that a new Code Geass Season 3 would air this year. However, Goro Taniguchi, the creator, revealed a shocking fact. Namely, he said that the third season of the series will feature the original Lelouch.
The title of this sequel is “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” and it happens after the Zero Requiem. It will be set in the same universe as well. As we all know, Lelouch died at the hands of his best friend Suzaku at the end of the second season.
There are several conclusions we can draw from this sequence of events. According to iTech, Lelouch might be still alive thanks to the power of code which he may own. It originally belonged to his immortal father, – Charles Zi Britannia. Lelouch is assumed to have killed his father in order to obtain the code and become immortal. Another theory regarding this character is that he can travel through time which will be unveiled in the third season.
Apart from that, in the final episode, there was a scene which focused on the hay cart driver where CC is riding. There is a speculation stating that the driver is Lelouch himself because otherwise there wouldn’t be a focus on someone who will not be a key role in the next season. Again there were some other predictions saying that Lelouch in the third season is a clone or some different version.
Fans are also guessing numerous things considering a sequel, such as its plot. They think it might revolve around Lelouch and CC’s journey together after the Zero Requiem. They might hide from their enemies and be discovered by a villain.
Everyone is certainly anxious to see what will happen in the third season and find out the reason why Lelouch is alive. Nonetheless, we’ll find this the moment it airs, which we’re hoping will be as soon as possible.
