Now you’ve seen it all! The Chinese presented the train running on virtual railway track

There is a lot of progress in the field of infrastructure. Namely, the autonomous rapid transit (Art), launched in the Chinese city Zhuzhou on 2 June, is about 30 meters long and is equipped with sensors that detect the dimensions of the road, allowing it to move a certain path without metal rails, said Feng Jianghua the chief project engineer of this train.

The train can accommodate 307 passengers and move more easily across the streets than the bus, but at the same time, it is more adaptable than the train. It reaches a speed of 70 km/h.

The technology behind the project was conceived by the Chinese rail maker CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive which is also in charge of designing parts for the high-speed railway of this country.

The company, which has been working on Art since 2013, hopes that the train is going to be ready for use in 2018.

Instead of steel wheels, that exist on trains as well, Art has rubber wheels attached to a plastic core that is linked to the specially designed guiding technology, according to Paper.Cn.

Developers point out that Art is much cheaper than the metro service is, because the construction of it costs between 400 and 700 million yuan (60 and 100 million dollars) per kilometer to build. In contrast, Art will cost about 15 million yuan (2.2 million dollars).

The virtual train has been introduced at a time when engineers around the world are trying to modernize the transport infrastructure. So this invention has marked a true progress in the field of both infrastructure and science.

On the other hand, in the US, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, is currently developing the Hyperloop, which is supposed to reach the top speed of 760 mph. This system will consist of the capsules that are going to move through the pipe with a reduced air pressure which in return lowers the drag, improving efficiency and allowing much higher speeds.
