Very important project is coming from SpaceX which could change and improve our lives on the Earth to a great extent. By 2019, this company will provide space internet for the entire humanity. Namely, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, said that by 2019, he will provide the “Space Internet” or the Internet supported by satellites. The intention of this project is to surround the Earth with thousands of satellites that will enable the Internet access to all people around the world.
Vice President of the Satellite Affairs Patricia Cooper announced that the company plans to send a prototype of a satellite into space this year already. Later on, in 2018, they will launch another one.
These prototypes will demonstrate that the conventional satellites can provide the Space Internet for all the residents of the Earth, prior to starting the construction of SpaceX internet network in 2019.
Cooper explained that the company plans to launch 4,425 satellites in Earth’s orbit at a fairly low altitude, between 1,110 and 1,325 kilometers.
SpaceX is going to build the control center and other facilities on the Earth, from where it will track the performance and functionality of “Internet satellite.”
There are 1,459 satellites currently orbiting around the Earth, a SpaceX plans to triple that number. The experts believe that this is a very ambitious, but also a potentially difficult and dangerous endeavor.
This project is particularly important for some developing countries that have not yet built an infrastructure to access the internet network. SpaceX satellites would provide access to the Internet in the most remote and poorest parts of the world.
