The GL8 minivan is the first model that will be produced by Avenir and it will hit the market in China. As the company said, the Avenir will represent the sub-brand for the top trims. The GMC has pulled off the similar thing with their Denali offshoot.
The current GL8 minivan looks outstanding, but the new Avenir version comes with some additional upgrades. First of all, the new version features Earl Purple paint in addition to some minor exterior improvements. Secondly, the car contains redesigned 18-inch multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.
Speaking of the interior, the minivan comes with plush carpeting and a suede ceiling. Furthermore, decadent seats and 18 lighting options are included. The seats, door panels and center console are the parts in the cabin on which you can see the badges of the sub-brand, but they are really subtle.
The name of the new minivan is still unfamiliar, but the fact that this car will go on sale is China is not surprising at all. Buick focuses on Chinese large market and the sales are expected to be pretty high for the new 2017 Buick Avenir minivan, considering that the existing GL8 is popular. The third-generation GL8 will be launched sometime in November. It will be equipped with the company’s new design featuring a horizontal wing.
