There is sometimes an awkward moment when you have to host a video on say Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s YouTube and share the same on Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). With the new Buffer feature, you upload the video once and then schedule its sharing.
Supported platforms
The supported social networks are Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Google+ and Pinterest. You can also schedule to share the video on Twitter or Linked In Corp (NYSE:LNKD).
The interesting thing about the new Buffer video sharing feature is that the posts appear natively regardless of where you schedule them to appear. That eliminates the confusion of positing on another social network and sharing across rival networks.
Custom thumbnails
Buffer also said that it is considering custom thumbnails for the video uploaded and shared using its new feature. Additionally, for LinkedIn and Pinterest, Buffer has promised to add a link that leads viewers to the videos hosted on its platform.
Useful video post analysis
Whether you share you Buffer-hosted video post on Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) or Twitter, the service will provide useful analysis of the post to ensure you get to know its progress. For example, you will be able to get analysts of Likes, Comments, Retweets and Shares involving your video.
Supported file formats
Buffer’s new video scheduling feature supports various file formats including AVI, MP4 and MOV. Uploaded files can be as large as 1GB.
