Brad Peyton, the famous movie director, talked about the type of movies that he loves to do. He said that the “emotional action stories” are his personal favorites. Peyton also added that he especially enjoys this type of films if they include “biggest movie star” Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
Brad’s most memorable projects include titles such as “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” and “San Andreas.” You probably know that both of these had People’s Champ in leading role. Peyton’s upcoming project “Rampage” is also a product of cooperation between these two men.
Talking about films he prefers Peyton said: “I love spectacle and huge, emotional action stories, and working with the biggest movie star in the world: Dwayne Johnson.”
Rampage fits this description. This film is based on the 80s arcade game of the same name. Its story revolves around giant gorilla, crocodile, and wolf. These three unnaturally mutated animals start to destroy a city. The only one who can stop them is Davis Okoye portrayed by Dwayne Johnson.
In recent times filmmakers had issues with bringing video games to big screens. Peyton saw those challenges, but also numerous opportunities that came with Rampage: “The game didn’t have much of a narrative, so I could pay homage to it in a respectful way by utilizing its three creatures and some ‘Easter eggs’ for the fans. But it also allowed me to make my own movie, and to explore a new story I wanted to tell, ground it in science, and convey themes that interested me.”
He continued by saying: “Most of all, I wanted to remind audiences that monsters are scary, but monster movies are meant to be fun. A lot of stars have to align to make a movie happen, and I think a lot of stars aligned on this one.”
In addition to Dwayne Johnson, Rampage also stars Naomie Harris, Jake Lacy, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, P.J. Byrne, Marley Shelton, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald and Jason Liles.
The movie will have its worldwide premiere on April 11th.
