BMW will unveil its i8 Frozen Edition at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and the vehicle will come in two different colors. The first one is called The BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition, while the second one is the i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition and both of these will be presented for the first time. Now, with two new color options, a total number of choices for the i8 rises to 12, which is great considering that when the vehicle was introduced, it had only four different color options.
The BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition will, of course, be custom black with the numerous bespoke options inside the cabin. The Protonic Frozen Yellow, on the other hand, will have custom yellow exterior, also with the authentic details in the interior.
These two new colors will be added to what is already a plethora of options, and if you pay $6,900, you can pick one from more than six colors off the Individual Colors Collection, which has been introduced just recently. Some of the available options are Java Green, Frozen Grey, Speed Yellow, Twilight Purple Pearl, Solar Orange, but there are many more on the list.
Whatever you decide to do in terms of color, you cannot change things under the hood. The BMW i8 comes with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that helped with electric motor produces 357 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The i8 can cross 15 miles on battery power, according to EPA, and it is estimated at 28 MPG and 76 MPGe when driven in electric mode only.
Price
Considering that these two models are special editions, they will be produced in a small number, so if you wanted to purchase one, you should do that as soon as possible. The price of the BMW Frozen Edition remains unknown, but the base BMW i8 costs $140,700, and the company has managed to sell 7,000 examples so far.
