BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) today, at the BlackBerry Enterprise Event in San Francisco, introduced BBM Meetings which is a multi-platform voice and high definition video conferencing application feature.
According to BlackBerry, “BBM Meetings is not just another collaboration app. ” BBM Meetings can be used on any device, Android, iPhone, BlackBerry 10 smartphones, Windows PC’s or MAC. BlackBerry also stated the minimum requirements being that BlackBerry 10 OS 10.2.1 or later, iOS version 7.0 or later and Android 4.0 (ICS). Mac OS X with Mac 10.6.8 or later and Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Vista SP1or later and XP SP3 or later.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) said BBM Meetings is built for Mobile Collaboration enhancing the productivity of professionals on the go, they can schedule, host and participate in meetings with ease using features that are not found in any other collaborations solutions.
From BlackBerry’s BBM Meetings web page, with HD video and voice conferencing, it can support up to 25 participants, the speaker/presenter can be viewed in full screen.

Many voice and video conferencing solutions were built with just the desktop in mind and mobile as an after-thought. BBM Meetings is designed from a mobile first perspective specifically to enable mobile employees to work together more effectively and get more done on the go.”
According to Strategy Analytics, the enterprise mobile conferencing market will grow to about 165 million users and a revenue of about $4.7 billion by 2018.
BlackBerry is pricing BBM Meetings in a new value-added bundle which will be made available in December. The bundle called the Enterprise Communicator bundle includes BBM Meetings, BBM Protected and Advantage level Support for $12 USD per host per month.
Based on Strategy Analytics projection, this could mean huge revenue potential for BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY).
