The annual Pro Bowl game is over with the AFC picking up an unlikely win over the stronger NFC squad. It was a low-scoring duel in which nobody took risks, and everyone made it without getting injured. It’s nice when you are named to a Pro Bowl and when you participate in it, but players and the teams didn’t want to risk an injury. That’s one big takeaway right there.
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Lorenzo Alexander of the Buffalo Bills took home the MVP awards, Kelce of course on the offensive side of the ball, while Bills’ linebacker did it on defense. Two strong performances by these guys earned them a deserved Most Valuable Player honors.
Seattle Seahawks had a pretty good performance with Sherman’s interception, Doug Baldwin’s big catch, and Bennet’s sack. Even though they are probably still disappointed that their season ended in the Divisional Round, they showed up to play and did a great job on the NFC squad.
Even though Jason Garrett had a lot of firepower on his team, he really didn’t have an explosive game plan. When you have guys like Odell Beckham Jr, who is by far the most popular guy on the squad, you should use him in some kind of way just to please the fans. This duel is for the fans, and it was a bit disappointing that we didn’t get to see him making cool plays.
But, to be honest, the biggest takeaway is the fact that Pro Bowl is now over and we can focus on the final and the most important game of the year, the Super Bowl. From now on, it’s all about the Falcons and the Patriots.
