Wrestlemania is the biggest show of the year that WWE produces and it’s often filled with very important matches that further define the direction in which the company will develop. On the other hand, there are a lot of guest stars that are participating in it, and it’s a good show for everybody. Some of the biggest mainstream celebrities are often appearing on this show and this year is not going to be an exception.
Shaquille O’Neal and The Big Show were rumored to have a match. The story has started when Shaq and the Big Show met at the ESPY’s. They are good friends, have a mutual respect and have already appeared on WWE television together. Shaq even made an appearance during last year’s Wrestlemania as he had a big staredown and fight with The World’s Largest Athlete.
Because of this, they decided that they are going to have a match at Wrestlemania 33. It was all set up as it was one of the first matches that were penciled in for this event. Now, it might be canceled. On the recent interview on the WWE’s official site, Big Show noted that the duel between the two might not happen.
“I mean, here’s the thing,” Big Show started explaining. “We shot this off at the ESPY Awards, Shaq said he’s in, I thought this would be a good match for fans to see two giants go at it. And I see Shaq riding around, singing karaoke and stopping at KrispyKreme. I’m like, Hey if you are not gonna take it seriously, find something else to do. I’ve given 22 years of my blood, sweat, and tears in this business and I’m doing this favor to Shaq. This could be my last WrestleMania.”
