You all saw the Beauty and the Beast movie, right? Well, then you must know what a hit it was, and there is no way that it could be any better right? Wrong! It could be miles better if Beyoncé actually decided to be in it and fulfill the primary wish of the movie’s director. Yes, you read right, Beyoncé and her voice were a part of the director’s game plan from the get-go.
The Beauty and the Beast director, Bill Condon, was the man who also directed his previous hit Dreamgirls, and in it was none other than her majesty Beyoncé. When he spoke for Yahoo! Movies on the topic of Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast, he realized that he is the first director to put a “Video Phone” songstress into a musical, ended up by him saying – “Isn’t that weird? God, it seems crazy!” Then he added “I even tried to get her into Beauty and the Beast, but it wasn’t a big enough part,” and according to him “She would have been a good feather duster.”
Plumette, or the feather duster, actually wasn’t one of the main servants in this great movie. It was actually the other half of Lumière. Since our lady Beyoncé was too busy winning awards and being, well Beyoncé, to play the role of Plumette, that honor went to Black Mirror and Doctor Who series actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She did a good job in portraying Plumette, but we all just can’t resist the question just how good would Beyoncé be in it. Let’s hope that Disney will decide to cast her one more time in one of the many, many adaptations they have got planned for the future. And B, make sure you are available when they call.
