Rolls-Royce has recently presented several special edition models and thus became the focus of car magazines and websites, but rivalry Bentley also unveiled a special edition model, which looks really cool. This one is named the Bentley Continental 24, and it pays respect to Bentley Motorsport’s entry to the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race.
This special edition Continental is based on the Supersports version, and although it comes without any engine tweaks, it carries the status of the Bentley’s fastest model ever, which speaks more than words. The engine we are talking about is a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12, and since there is not a lot to talk here, we will move to the other aspects of the Continental 24 special edition.
This vehicle is one of the rare special edition models which has its own option to choose from, and this makes it even more limited. Bentley is going to produce a total of 24 units of this unique Continental, and each model would cost a fortune – as you are going to see later in the article.
Why is Bentley Continental 24 Different Than Other Models?
The inspiration of the special edition Bentley is kind of “weak.” To be honest, it would’ve been much better if the new car had been inspired by a model that triumphed at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and that would add a lot of significance. When someone participates in a race it is not that big of a deal, and special edition model is not obligatory, so to say.
However, it is what it is, and this is Bentley, the British luxury carmaker, one of the best brands for the production of limited edition models. Speaking of the Continental 24, the company uses the Monaco Yellow and Black Crystal color scheme for the coupe. This combination of colors really looks nice, especially those yellow and black 20-inch lightweight forged wheels, but if someone thinks that it is not pretty, then that person can opt for a second paint scheme. It is the blend of St. James’ Red and Black Crystal, which is not as attention-drawing as the former, but it is still as beautiful.
The Cabin – Definition of Upscale
The interior of the Bentley Continental 24 looks upscale. The cabin is race-themed, and it is literally filled with luxurious and high-quality materials such as Alcantara and carbon fiber. There are four seats which sport diamond quilting in Alcantara whereas a lot of carbon fiber can be found on the fascias and door panels, but carbon fiber is also used for the individually numbered tread plates. Moreover, you can find headrests which are equipped with an authentic emblem and fascias fitted with “Continental 24” inlays.
Engine – Raw But Elegant
Should we even mention the fact that the Bentley Continental 24 is not a standard Bentley? Even though this sounds a little bit ridiculous, if you decide to buy the new special edition you will end up with a coupe that has a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine under its hood. This large powerplant delivers 700 horses and 750 lb-ft of torque which is enough for a car to reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds while the top speed of the Continental 24 is 209 mph.
Bentley Continental 24 Price Tag and Conclusion
The Bentley Continental 24 Special Edition is just a great mixture of everything and the car really looks unique. However, as you might expect, the price of this model is quite high. To be precise, the Continental 24 costs $280,000, and you have to admit that this is a substantial amount of money. Nevertheless, since only 24 examples will be produced, they are not going to be on sale for a long time and for those who buy one, the deliveries should start in June 2017.
