Now that the third trailer for the highly anticipated Baywatch movie is finally released after months of waiting, we get to see that Priyanka Chopra, best known for ABC’s drama Quantico, will not play Dwayne Johnson’s love interest. Some fans expected this to happen, but she will be one of the antagonists and Johnson’s opponent instead. It also came as a surprise that the new trailer is primarily centered on the actress and her character, as she barely appeared in the previous two, and she was left out from the movie posters, too.
Johnson posted the new trailer on his Instagram with the following caption: “Our #BAYWATCH team of superheroes has one mission: Protect the beach at all costs. If you threaten our turf, we’ll rock your world w/ Poseidon-level vengeance. Be warned @PriyankaChopra…” The trailer shows us that Chopra’s character, Victoria Leeds, should not be trusted based on her charming smile. We learn that she own a club by the beach, but is also involved in the drug business. More precisely, she may be one of the main culprits for wreaking havoc on the otherwise peaceful bay.
Being an R-rated action comedy which is set on a beach and has Dwayne Johnson, Priyanka Chopra, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario as the main cast members, the Baywatch movie is expected to be one of this year’s blockbusters. It is directed by Seth Gordon and, in addition to the previously mentioned actors, the film will also star some of the original cast members whose memorable performance in the Baywatch series made the show what it is. These include Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.
