Batista was one of the biggest stars in the WWE a decade ago. Everybody loved him when he was a face as guys that look like him usually become stars as heels. Even though this wrestler liked more when he was a bad guy, there is no doubt that the fans loved him when he was their hero. The Animal just had that intense persona and fans couldn’t help themselves but get hyped when Batista was on a rampage.
His latest run with the company was pretty bad as WWE tried to show him down fans throats as a babyface. Then, when that clearly didn’t work as he got booed when he won the Royal Rumble, they turned him heel. He obviously didn’t enjoy what he was working with, and he decided to leave the company yet again. Since then, we haven’t seen him on WWE TV.
There were some reports that the organization wanted him back and they offered some storylines since he departed, but he rejected everything. Batista was a guest on the Chris Jericho‘s podcast where he revealed who is his ideal opponent right now.
“I’ve asked, yeah, I’ve asked. Well, there’s…I’ve asked for what I want. I’ll tell you and I’ve talked to Hunter about it and I’ve talked to Vince about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That’s the only thing I’m interested in doing. They’re just not interested in it, you know?”
So there it is. Batista’s message was loud and clear. He would come back only to work with Triple H as he is not interested in anything else. Batista also said that he does miss the wrestling, but he really doesn’t miss the company and everything that he has to deal with on a daily basis in the WWE.
