With an aim to consider possibilities to inject AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) tech into connected features of a car, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has sealed partnerships with Audi, BMW, GM, Ford, Telsa, Nissan, Volvo and Subaru. With this new association, Digital Life customers with a compatible car will now be able to access the application on their car’s control panel or via voice control to keep an eye on what’s happening at home without the hassles of grabbing a phone or other device while driving.
For those who don’t own compatible cars, for now, will have to use Digital Life services in the old way, using their smartphones.
Considering the Works with Nest initiative and its partnership with Mercedes-Benz, there is an expanding incidence of third-party integration appearing on the smart house scene.
Seeing the stagnant smartphone market, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has been looking forward to secure new consolidation. The efforts of the company for integration have been put in full display with the Digital Life/Drive partnership.
The company has stated that it has added some 800000 wireless cars in the last quarter of 2014 and is aiming to attract half of the new US cars in the year 2015 and over 10 million by close of the year 2017. AT&T Drive Studio, a 5000 square-foot facility, is located in Atlanta and is the center point of company’s initiative to connect cars with cellular services.
