Nobody really thought that Matt Ryan would be leading the NFL in passing yards and passer rating after first five weeks. And almost nobody picked Falcons to win their previous two matchups against Panthers and Broncos. Well, after all, they are sitting at 4-1, and at the top of the division, they are on a 4-game winning streak and looking to continue with their successful story.
Seahawks are waiting for them this week in Seattle. Their defense is still one of the best in the NFL, and it’s another tough matchup for this Atlanta team. Russell Wilson and company are coming off a bye week and after having two weeks to prepare for this Falcons offense. Jimmy Graham finally looks alive in this Seattle lineup. His productive play and consistency will be huge for this squad going forward.
Running backs were the ones who gave Atlanta that much-needed boost on the road in Denver, and they’ll have to do the same in Seattle. Their biggest advantage is the fact that they have a lot of weapons on offense and you can’t predict who will deal the most damage. Every player in that segment can explode on any given Sunday and crush almost any opponent.
This matchup will probably come down to who can be better on offense and which quarterback has a better day.
Logically, it should be Russell Wilson. Matty Ice should be able to put up similar numbers this week just like in the game against the Broncos, but he will have one more interception. Seahawks will score more points than Denver did in that duel and Seattle will take this game. The final score should be 27:17 in favor of the home team.
