The new iPhone 8 looks fascinating, and it also fits the hand perfectly. However, is Apple preparing a nasty surprise for the new iPhone 8 owners?
According to a majority of sources, the new device will not come with Touch ID, even though it has been suggested that this feature would be hidden in a curiously large power button. Tech specialists from BlueFin Research Partners confirmed these reports and claims.
“It is our belief at this time that fingerprint sensing will NOT [caps theirs] be included at launch,” states BlueFin. Though it concedes “We are still grappling with the touch ID/fingerprint sensing situation as we continue to uncover mixed messaging.”
According to BlueFin’s theories, Touch ID might be included but disabled at launch. However, Apple plans to unlock it by a software update in the future. Cupertino tech giant has done something similar with the late arrival of Portrait Mode on the iPhone 7 Plus via an iOS upgrade, but Touch ID is something completely different. People are starting to believe that this Touch ID controversy or whatever you want to call it is the reason for the iPhone 8 production delay. Initially, Apple wanted to embed Touch ID into the new OLED display but failed to do so, just like Samsung.
BluFin claims that after Apple overcomes the initial bottleneck, there will be a rapid ramp up of production to 44M iPhone 8 units in company’s December ending Q1 with 30M units planned for each following quarter. This would mark record level of stock for a single model. Furthermore, Apple plans to launch upgraded iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus alongside the new smartphone.
The new iPhone 8 brings so many new features to the table beside the enlarged OLED panel. Some of those features are fast charging, vertically aligned rear dual camera, wireless charging, etc. Pricing is what makes this whole deal complicated as it will likely go north of $1,000.
