Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS 8 adoption numbers came higher in November compared to last month. As of November 10, the iOS 8 was operating on almost 56% of devices registered on the APP Store compared to 52% reported on October 27, 2014. The adoption rate of iOS 7 dropped to 40%. It has been two months the new operating system was launched, and finally now it is showing signs of adoption among consumers.
Overcoming the problems
As per the new adoption figures, it seems Apple’s iOS 8 seems to be back on track after experiencing disappointments in last month. In the past two weeks, the latest iOS reported a rise of 4%. Prior to it, it reported gains of just five points over three-week period.
The operating system received overwhelming response when it was released. However, the adoption stagnated in the first week of October. The adoption rate was just 1% over a two-week period.
The major issues
The owners of Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices were not ready to upgrade their devices to the new operating system. The problem of bug issues and other associated problems like disabled cellular connectivity fuelled fears in the owner’s mind. Therefore, to keep their handsets safer and working, they thought it better to avoid the use of new iOS on their handsets.
Also, due to the launch-day bug issue, Apple was forced to remove HealthKit-enabled apps from its store.
The new release
Apple has introduced a new version iOS 8.1 updates for its customers. It is relatively stable than the previous version. The new version activated Apple Pay and iCloud Photo Library for iPhone 6 users.
The other features included instant Hotspot facility when paired with iPad or Mac, SMS relay and the feature of Camera Roll in the Photos App. The new update comes with bug fixes eliminating fears from the customer’s mind.
