Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has begun to find popular market partners to help in ‘discovery’ of the multitude of Apps it has on its App Store shelves. In an exclusive tie-up (as yet), with globally viral bookmarking social network Pinterest, App Store will now have curated accounts of assorted boards on Pinterest starting Thursday. This will be in addition, to a new ‘Apps Pin’ on Pinterest.
Apps Pin: A whole new world of Apps
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as one of the most popular platform for apps, is the dream destination of every developer. This has meant that nearly everything on earth has an App on App Store. Given the proliferation of multitudes, App Store’s popularity appears to its undoing. Searching and locating just that perfect App for one’s task is sometimes a challenge.
Overtime, this has meant Apps do not have a well-fledged out display for what they can accomplish, despite Apple Inc.’s attempts to promote the better ones, via the Featured Apps, a well-curated line-up of Apps. However, this attempt too is a rain drop in an ocean of seawater.
In its pursuit to find the next best way to promote and showcase Apps meaningfully and intuitively, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) appears to have brilliantly hit upon Pinterest, and engage with its wide-reaching penetration via the App Pins.
App Pins
Pinterest is a workhorse application, which despite its social network infrastructure is a bookmarking haven! With App Pins, iOS device users need never move away from Pinterest but pin-down the app which holds their interest. They can instantly download it, or return to it later and proceed to download. It’s pretty much the same way users have been using recipe pins or photos and espresso machines buys at Pinterest dashboard.
Though, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) claims to be doing pretty much the same, via its News Feed, in promoting Apps among millions of its users, the numbers do not appear to substantiate their popularity!
