WWE decided to split up one of the most popular tag teams in the recent memory of the company just a couple of months ago. Even though the fans still loved Enzo and Big Cass as a duo, they had other plans and decided that it is best if the two move on in different directions. That is why Big Cass is going to get a big push when he returns from the injury while Enzo made his debut on the 205 Live.
It seems that this storyline was done way too early and that there really wasn’t any need to have them become singles guys so soon in their main roster run. The tag team division on Raw is going to suffer, and their characters are going to suffer, but for different reasons. Cass is just not ready to be a big time heel on the flagship show while Enzo was doomed from the start as the writers booked him like a punching bag.
He even has some backstage heat because of how he behaves off camera, which is something that is not going to help him make any friends in the locker room. Big Cass was asked about what he thinks of his now former partner and here are his comments.
“Enzo is Enzo, the guy you see on TV is the guy that you see in real life. Enzo wouldn’t be in the spot he’s in, he wouldn’t have made it this far if he didn’t act the way he does, so there is good with the bad. No, I don’t think so, I don’t think I have distanced myself from him. The storyline has kind of taken on its own thing.”
