BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSX: BB) announced today that health care provider Mackenzie Health which serves more than half a million people will deploy the BlackBerry Classic in their organization.
Mackenzie health along with its comprehensive community services will make available the BlackBerry Classic to its employees especially those who deal with highly-sensitive information.

BES12 and healthcare
Mackenzie intends to use the BlackBerry Classic with BES12 for a more secure end-to-end solution. “Together with BES12, BlackBerry Classic offers us the most secure end-to-end mobile infrastructure for our staff, especially for those who loved the familiar design of their BlackBerry Bold and Curve devices.” said Richard Tam, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mackenzie Health.
“BES12 will allow Mackenzie Health to offer their employees choice when it comes to BYOD, but still maintain the data privacy standards required in the healthcare industry. Mackenzie will also add the BlackBerry Passport and Z30 to their mobile fleet in addition to the BlackBerry Classic. This will give their employees the choice between QWERTY keyboard or all-touch screen smartphone.
The BlackBerry Passport with its unique wide design seems the preferred choice for healthcare professionals. With its high pixel density and wide screen, health professionals can view and share clinical images and x ray pictures.
