Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) cache of apps for its Windows-based phone will have a beta run soon. The app will allow users to interact with their Lumia Window phones without touching the display.
Gestures Beta for Lumia
The all new app will currently be native to Lumia Windows Phone and will pack a load of gestures for download. Side-stepping analyst forecasts of introducing ‘enhanced interactions’ as well as gestures with the second update to Windows Phone 8.1, the makers of the Windows Operating System chose to begin with an exclusive Lumina-defined Gestures App.
The beta version of the app will allow the control of functional features of the Lumia, such as control calls and to ‘silence’ calls an official Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) blog post noted.
The app is developed to answer calls, such as picking up the phone, placing it near your ear and to mute the microphone during calls. It will also allow users to put calls on speaker as well as silencing incoming calls by flipping phone display.
The gestures are simple, such as placing the phone by the ear to activate the answer calls feature or placing the phone on a flat surface, with face down to mute calls. Alternatively user can place the phone on flat surface facing display up on flat surface to move calls to speaker.
There will however be certain interactions gestures in the upcoming Windows 10 universal operating system. Therefore, experts term the current Gestures Beta as pre-test for the Windows 10 itself, with likely debut on other Windows Phone itself.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will launch its Gestures Beta app for Lumia Windows Phone devices on Tuesday. The gestures available on the app will be limited ones and are expected to make users of Lumia 630, Lumia 530 happy. The on-off gesture is expected to be a key feature, that users of the phone are expected to enjoy!
