After winning Money in the Bank briefcase in June, Baron Corbin was well on his way to the top of the ladder on the blue brand. The future really looked bright for him after the MITB PPV. Now, just two months later, it seems that his career is going to go only downhill from now on. It is sad to think about the possibility of that win in the ladder match as the peak of Baron Corbin’s career, but it might be just that.
People have been wondering what has happened to his push lately since he lost his briefcase to Jinder Mahal just six days before not putting up a lot of fight against John Cena at the Summerslam pay per view. There were reports that Cena’s opinion of some stars in the past has affected their push in the company. There is a legit reason to wonder whether or not that was the case here, but according to Dave Meltzer, Cena didn’t have anything bad to say about the Lone Wolf.
Of course, the twitter interactions that he had over the last couple of weeks didn’t help him. But, again, Dave Meltzer has found out that whatever he did on the social media platform really had nothing to do with him losing his MITB contract.
Right now, we don’t know what WWE wants to do with him going forward or why did they stop pushing this guy that has improved a lot over the course of the past year and had a lot of potential. The hope is that he can get back on track.
