Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) have launched the first wave of business apps called MobileFirst for providing iOS solutions. The mobile app would set to change the users’ experience of iPhone, as well as, iPad as the apps would support cloud services.
Enterprise Customers
Both Apple and IBM said that supporting cloud services would bring in analytics capabilities and IBM’s big data to smart devices such as iPhone and iPad in the enterprise segment. With the launch of MobileFirst, enterprise customers from the retail, banking, financial services, telecommunications, insurance, and government, as well as, airlines would be able to make use of iOS solutions.
IBM clients like Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C), Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S), Air Canada and Banorte have extended their support to the latest apps of IBM MobileFirst. The apps were exclusively built for iPhone and iPad and came up with a secure environment, surrounded with analytics besides linking core enterprise processes.
The uniqueness of MobileFirst was that it can be customized and can be easily deployed in any organization apart from managing and upgrading it through cloud services from IBM particularly for iOS gadgets. It included security, apps, and device. Apple and IBM said that the first wave of its apps is now available for a different type of industries. The companies indicated that they would continue their efforts for additional apps.

IBM Global Business Services’ SVP said that the company was focusing on the new quest of business, i.e. smart technologies to unlock fresh value at the crossroads of big data, as well as individual engagement. He said that its collaboration integrated its industry expertise with Apple’s celebrated user experience besides excellence in product design to boost business professionals’ performance of the new generation.
Similarly, Apple’s SVP of worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller, said that it was a big step as far as iPhone and iPad were concerned in the enterprise sector. Since the corporate world has transformed into mobile, Apple, as well as, IBM were developing and establishing the best technology to help analytics and big data management.
